Moving So Far...

The packers came the 19th and 20th of June and the movers were set to come on the 25th but we called them to see if they could come earlier because the packers got done earlier than expected. They called back and said Saturday the 23rd would work for them and then called back again on Thursday and said they would be there Friday. Tom had his going away scheduled for that day but we managed. I sat at the house with the movers while Tom was having lunch and golfing. They finally pulled away around 7:30 and we were off to billeting for the next 5 days. We were to final out of our house and leave town on Thursday but the cleaners got done early too and we rescheduled our final inspection and Tom's final out processing meeting and headed out on Wednesday. We headed to my parent's in Wisconsin and dropped the kiddos there while we went to St. Louis to look for a house. We planned to meet the realtor on Saturday at 1:00 and by 5:00 we had looked at probably 12 or so houses. Some we thought were doable (if that's a word) and others not so much. We then planned to meet again the next day and looked at about 12 houses that day and thought we had found the house we wanted to buy. It was in a small town about 20 minutes from the base, in our price range (which was important), and we liked it a lot. We planned to meet the realtor Monday morning to write up the paperwork and such. But on the way to the realtor's office we had a change of heart. Although it was a very nice house we decided between the money we would spend on gas driving to the Base and back everyday (Tom to work and I to the gym) and the money we could spend on a house that was closer we were not going to buy that house and we were going to buy a house we saw the very first day that was a little out of our price range but would even out in gas since it was only a 5 minute (maybe, if that) drive to the base and also in the school district we had originally hoped to be in. So imagine the realtor's surprise when we walked in and told him we wanted to go look at the other house again. He didn't skip a beat and we got in the car and went to the other house and since it was new construction we hammered out the deal right there and walked away with a closing date of the 24th of July. Tom and I then took off back to Wisconsin and here we sit waiting for the 24th to come along.

Moving

So the moving process is officially started and the packers come tommorrow, no, not the Green Bay Packers. We have officially decluttered and feel really good about the lack of crap (for lack of a better word)that we will be moving this time around. However, I did realize we need to cut down on the battery operated kind of toys we have for the kids as when we emptied the toys we produced and entire gallon size ziplock bag and I am sure we missed a few. So here is a picture so you can get the whole picture hehe. My postings will be sparse for the next month or so until we get settled (because I post so often when I am settled).
I will fill you all in on the whole process when we are done.

Orders Again?

Yes it's true, we got orders again. No, not to any exciting place like Japan. But orders out of here at least. I think 12 years in North Dakota is enough for anyone. This time we are going to Scott AFB in Illinois. We pack up and are out of here the end of June. So if ya ever wanna see the Gateway Arch you can head our way. The Burman Family Liquidation is now on.

Vegas Baby!

Tom has been trying to get me to Vegas for what seems like forever. I finally gave in after seeing a two-fer-one deal we couldn't pass up. Oh and it was for our 15th anniversary too. I have to admit it was something to see, not really for me but very interesting none the less.
We stayed at the Excalibur which was nice since it had just recently been updated. Here is a pic out of our 18th floor window. We spent the first day WALKING for miles and I ended up with blisters on my feet, OWWWY. The next day we decided to get a bus pass that would take us up to the the old strip, much less walking. It was pretty cool, I didn't get to see the lights that come on at night since we went up early in the day.
We stopped at a few of the sites on the way back. To include The Flamingo Hotel and Casino, the oldest one still there...

Bailey's favorite part about our trip was when she saw a picture of the double decker bus we got to ride.

We did get to see Elvis too, cuz you just can't got to Vegas and not see him. The only thing was, all I could find was this fat version.


It was a short 3 day trip but enough to see everything and not go over Tom's gambling budget.

Big Blossom Paper

Look what I made...I needed some paper to wrap our Yahtzee prizes for the spouses group meeting and didn't feel like running to the store, so I made this with Freezer paper and my Big Blossom stamp.

First Haircut

We took Kamdyn to get her hair cut today so you all will be happy she no longer has a mullet. She did very good sitting in the chair as long as she had her sucker and her very own comb.

Easter was quiet and uneventful(like we like it here).
The kids had fun finding their eggs and baskets and then we watched "Happy Feet" that they got from Grandma and had a nice ham dinner.

So as I was looking at the pictures on my camera that I took of the big Kindergartner at her very important 1 minute song/dance, I noticed a picture I had taken of the little one on the 3rd of March and completely forgot about(don't know how I could have forgotten about it). So anyway here it is.....

CHIRP CHIRP

As I sat down to read the paper this morning, the phone rang and it was a friend of mine asking me if I had read the paper yet, because that's what I do on Sunday morning. I said I just sat down and that's when she told me that Cricuts were on sale at Michael's for $139, yes, I said $139. I couldn't believe it, I had been wanting to buy one but waiting for the right time. You see another dear friend of mine owns one and I just use her when I feel the need. When we got our orders last month I said I would have to buy one before we leave so I knew I would be getting my own soon. Well then as you read they cancelled our orders so again I was not in a hurry to get one. Well about 2 weeks ago on a whim we were at Wal-Mart and decided now could be a good time to get one because, well, no reason really but they were only $169 there and much more anywhere else and we were there already. The only thing was they didn't have any in stock. So there I was again with no real reason to buy one, then my flip-flop footed friend called and the rest is history and I now own one of my very own as do 2 of my other friends who got in the car with me this morning to be there when Michael's opened!
